Couple raffling £300K five-bed home and £28K BMW for just £2

A couple are raffling their five-bedroom home and BMW for just £2 in the hopes of fulfilling their dreams of moving to Australia.

The property in Manchester, is worth approximately £300,000 and has four double bedrooms, one smaller bedroom, a kitchen-diner, two bathrooms and a large back garden – making it the perfect family home.

Current owners Natalie and Bradley Rowcroft, are giving their home away for a steal so they can fulfil their dream of moving to Australia, reports Manchester Evening News.

The couple had originally put the property up for sale a few months ago, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the process was put on pause.

But Natalie and Bradley didn’t let that get in their way of travelling to Australia.

They came up with another way to get their house back on the market… a raffle, with each ticket costing £2.

The lucky winner will be chosen once 200,000 of the tickets have been sold.

Since the couple bought the house 10 years ago they have made significant improvements, which have cost them a staggering £100,000.

The house now boasts an additional two bedrooms, new flooring and an outdoor patio – which makes it perfect for entertaining in the summer.

But if that’s not enough, the raffle winner will also get their hands on the family’s BMW with blacked out windows and new alloys, as it will be too expensive to transport to Australia.

And some of the furniture, including what can be seen in the mater bedroom, the beds and a TV will also be left behind.

Childhood sweethearts teaching assistant Natalie, 33, and joiner Bradley, 34, have been together since they were 14 and have always had dreams to move to Brisbane, Australia but always put the move off.

At the start of 2020 they decided to take the plunge, taking their three sons aged 14, 12 and seven with them, until Covid-19 put a halt to their plans.

Natalie said: “Due to Covid-19 our move has been stalled. We have been thinking, what do we do? We saw someone who moved to Australia by raffling their house off and thought to do the same.

“It is in a sought-out area of Salford, near Media City and Salford Royal Hospital. It is so hard to get onto the property market – somebody can for just £2.

“We need to sell 200,000 tickets for £2 a ticket. The raffle company takes a percentage of the cash.

“We will pay all of the legal fees both sides.

“Who doesn’t want a car and a house for £2? We will give it as a package.”

She added: “We plan to move to Australia in October, as soon as the raffle tickets sell we will be able to announce the winner.

“We hope to find the winner by September, but will announce it as soon as possible. We are honest hardworking people who want to live our dream.

“It is always something my husband has wanted to do, since he was in his mid 20s. But things have got in the way with work or we have had more children.

“It got to the time in life, we lost some family members, and we thought life is too short, why don’t we go for it.

“It is giving us our dream life and somebody else their dream life – two success stories.”
